Hawaii Audiology Consultants, Inc. supports and organizes ROCK SMART seminars to spread hearing conservation education and awareness to those in the music industry.


Hearing conservationists typically recommend that hearing protection devices be worn whenever sound levels exceed 85 dBA (as loud as a lawn mower or vacuum cleaner) for extended periods.

Education & Mentoring

Owner Joy Waikoloa coaches Roosevelt High School's paddling team, and in 2011 was chosen as the lead instructor for the Hawaii Youth Symphony after-school music program at the Boys & Girls Club of Honolulu. She enjoys guiding her students and clients, overcoming challenges, and accomplishing professional goals. Joy is a member of the American Society of Safety Professionals , Hawaii Music Educators Association, the Music Educators National Conference and the National Education Association.

In her free time, Joy is a professional jazz vocalist, performing with her band, Absolute Joy.
